Young people are integral to Middlesbrough a city at heart!

Passionate young people are uniting to help Middlesbrough achieve city status.

A Young People’s Bid Team has been formed and includes young people representing Middlesbrough, Stockton, Darlington and Redcar and Cleveland and they’re brimming with ideas to get you involved in the bid for City status.

Middlesbrough is full of talented young primary school pupils using their artistic talents to make local roads safer and Teesside University students contributing time and talents toward the new University prospectus.

There are some great events to look forward to as the weather heats up including the brilliant Intro Festival (formerly Middlesbrough Music Live), taking a leap for heritage or getting fit for a good cause, a Riverside benefit match for Gary Parkinson, fantastic exhibitions and joining Middlesbrough Futsal Club as they attempt to break a World Record!

We couldn't put it any better than local student James "...To me, the city bid is about more than just a title, it's an opportunity. It's an opportunity to attract private investment...It's an opportunity to develop the new Middlesbrough as a modern, current centre of Teen Culture, MIMA and Middlehaven would just be the start of something major with the city bid. Back the Bid!"

Intro Festival early bird tickets are on sale now from Middlesbrough Town Hall, seetickets.com, ticketweb.co.uk, select HMV outlets including Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Leeds & Manchester and the ARC, Stockton.

Around 100 acts including Example, Feeder, Chipmunk, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Wretch 32 can be yours for under a tenner!
